If you jump on a software bandwagon earlier than the average person and become an expert, you can make money as a consultant.

3. Define Your Market

Once you know what problem you will solve, the next step is to define the type of people with that problem who will become your target market. Defining your target market is vital because it will inform your marketing strategies and the brand you create. If you’re not sure where to start, often, a target market reflects the founder in some way (but it doesn’t have to). That being said, make sure you target customers who can afford to buy from you to maximize your earning potential.

4. Connect with Your Target Market

Once your target market is defined, you need to find a way to connect with your target market. Gareth recommends joining online communities in free Facebook or LinkedIn groups. You can answer your target customer’s questions in the group and encourage them to contact you for more assistance.
