What is Scott’s Cheap Flights?

Scott’s Cheap Flights is a service that tracks flight price information and alerts you when destinations you are interested in and airports near you have amazing prices. Basically, Scott’s Cheap Flights makes it easy for you to save from 40% to 90% on flights to destinations worldwide.

Features Scott’s Cheap Flights

If you’re curious how exactly Scott’s Cheap Flights works, here are the features and the process you go through when signing up.

Select your airports

The first step once you sign up is to select the airports that you are most interested in.

Watch your email

Once you set up your account, Scott’s Cheap Flights will send you emails to alert you when they find deals that may be interesting to you. In the email, they’ll highlight the price of a normal round trip flight, and then they’ll highlight the details that they found, including the dates, the destination, the airports you can leave from, and whether or not the flight is nonstop.

Log in to their Website

If you don’t want to be bombarded by emails, you can always log in to their website to see the most up-to-date deals. I like having the emails since the deals are time-sensitive, but seeing those emails every few days may stress you out if you have FOMO.

Example of Email I received from Scott’s Cheap Flights.

Scott’s Cheap Flights Pricing

Scott’s Cheap Flights offers three pricing tiers.

Free

The free option is limited and allows you to get all of their international economy class deals each month from up to 5 airports.

Premium

Premium members get the best economy deals from up to 10 airports, including domestic deals, weekend getaways, and mistake fares from your home airport. This option costs $49 per year.

Elite

Elite members get all the benefits of Premium in first, business, or premium economy class. Elite members can also receive mistake fares from any US airport and get deals from unlimited airports in the US. This option costs $199 per year.

Signing up and getting started with Scott’s Cheap Flights

If you’re interested in signing up, go to scottscheapflights.com and hit “sign up.” You can sign in with your Google account or enter an email address, your name, and a password.

If you use an email account, they’ll ask you to confirm your email address.

Once you confirm your email address, they will take you through a simple introduction, and then they’ll ask you a few questions like:

  • What is your home airport?
  • Which destinations are you hoping they’ll send your way? (you can select up to 6)
  • What other airports would you like to follow? (you can select up to 5)
  • What kind of flight deals are you interested in?

Using this data, they’ll then determine which deals would be the best for you and give you an offer.

Pros and Cons of Scott’s Cheap Flights

Here are the pros and cons of using Scott’s Cheap Flights.

👍 Pros

  • Their website is super easy to use.
  • They offer recommendations of airports they think you should follow based on your home airport and your top destinations.
  • You really can get some sweet deals on flights.

👎 Cons

  • You have to be quick to book. (However, most airlines have a 24-hour rule, so if you book and then change your mind you’ll be able to get your money back if you cancel within 24 hours.)
  • Scott’s Cheap Flight is a great service. However, if you have a specific destination and time of year, this service may not be ideal for you. You could get lucky, but you could never see a deal for where you want to go.

Alternatives to Scott’s Cheap Flights

Scott’s Cheap Flights isn’t the only player in town. Here are some of the other similar services:

  1. Nextvacay.com works similarly and is only $25 a year, but they don’t have a free version.
  2. Iwantthatflight.com is an Australian company that covers worldwide travel and is free, but they get paid for ads and other affiliates.
  3. Secretflying.com has a landing page where you can see deals of the day and an error fares page.

Final Thoughts on Scott’s Cheap Flights

What’s my final review of Scott’s Cheap Flights? I really like Scott’s Cheap Flights. For now, because my children are small (2 and 4 years old) and I’d rather get a root canal than fly with them, I’m sticking with the free version. However, when flights with my progeny are more tolerable flight companions, I will be paying for the upgraded service and getting some sweet flight deals.

How To Build Passive Income

There’s a quiet misconception about how to build passive income that refuses to die. That the people pulling it off are somehow different. Smarter. Earlier. Braver. Richer. Better positioned. They’re not. Most of them are just… normal. Busy. Slightly skeptical. Often late to the party and unsure if it’ll even work. That’s what makes their stories interesting. Because passive income, when you strip away the hype, isn’t built by superheroes. It’s built by people who decided to stop waiting for perfect conditions and started using what they already had. I know, because that’s exactly how I started. My Passive Income

Why Money Isn’t the Barrier to Passive Income (and What Is)

Let’s clear something about passive income up right away. If you don’t have passive income yet, it’s probably not because you don’t have enough money. That’s the story we tell ourselves because it’s convenient. Money is an easy villain. It lets us delay action without confronting the harder stuff. “I’ll start once I have more cash.”“I just need a little runway.”“I’d do this if money wasn’t so tight.” I believed that too. And it kept me stuck far longer than I care to admit. Because once I actually started building passive income, it became painfully obvious: money was never the

Build Passive Income Even If You’re Broke

Nobody admits this part about building passive income out loud, so I will. Most people who want passive income aren’t lazy. They’re exhausted. They’re mentally juggling daycare costs, groceries that somehow doubled, and a job that pays fine but somehow never feels like enough. They don’t want to be rich-rich. They want room to breathe. And when you’re in that place, most passive income advice sounds… detached from reality. “Just invest.”“Just start a business.”“You just need to outsource.” Cool. With what money? And what time? I didn’t start building passive income because I was inspired. I started because I was
